Position Overview:

McMaster University is in search of a committed professional to fill the role of Clinical Research Operations Specialist. This position involves the execution, oversight, enhancement, evaluation, coordination, and documentation of diverse clinical research initiatives. As a vital contributor to our team, you will significantly influence the formulation and implementation of research protocols, management of study operations, and operational strategies.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret existing literature utilizing specialized expertise and scientific methodologies.
  • Draft components of scientific manuscripts, grant applications, and conference abstracts.
  • Manage research personnel and resources to facilitate project advancement.
  • Estimate timeframes and resource requirements for research initiatives.
  • Supervise data gathering, entry, validation, management, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Employ statistical software for data evaluation and interpretation of findings.
  • Design and sustain databases, data collection instruments, and associated applications.
  • Conduct structured interviews with study participants.
  • Ensure adherence to research methodologies and appropriate management of research materials.
  • Engage in the development and presentation of promotional strategies.
  • Formulate financial forecasts and oversee research project budgets.
  • Perform literature reviews.
  • Provide guidance for a team of casual employees.
  • Facilitate orientation and training for new team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of pertinent experience.

Additional Insights:

  • Experience working with pediatric populations.
  • Familiarity with REDCap software.
  • Capability to operate independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • This position may require occasional travel.
