Position Overview:
This role is responsible for directing the architectural framework for Global Compliance and Anti Money Laundering (AML) technology. The focus is on ensuring that strategies, plans, and initiatives align with the business objectives of the team while adhering to regulatory standards and internal protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams, product managers, and technical platform teams to design and develop AML platforms, facilitating the incremental rollout of new features.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership across Global Compliance and AML, particularly regarding technology projects.
- Oversee the long-term technological vision and drive innovations to enhance the value of investments across various applications and services.
- Lead the AML Architecture Review Board, ensuring that business initiatives are backed by comprehensive solution designs that comply with the Bank's technology standards.
- Steer various technology strategy initiatives, including application rationalization, cloud migration, and modernization of legacy systems.
- Streamline the technology application landscape to achieve efficiency improvements in cost, revenue, and resources while maintaining high business value delivery.
- Conduct research and development to assess emerging technologies and their potential to transform Global Compliance and AML platforms.
- Integrate the Bank's risk appetite and culture into daily operations and decision-making processes.
- Promote a high-performance culture and contribute to an inclusive workplace.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience and deep expertise in the technology sector is essential (e.g., software engineering, IT & Digital strategy, enterprise architecture, complex technology delivery, IT innovation).
- A minimum of 7 years in Software Engineering Leadership, Software Architecture, or Data Architecture is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in Financial Crime and/or Anti Money Laundering is required.
- Familiarity with modern technologies such as cloud platforms, microservices, mobile and web architectures, DevSecOps, and contemporary data platforms is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to influence others.
- Self-driven, capable of working independently and collaboratively within multi-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of the specific technology challenges relevant to Global Compliance and AML, along with awareness of current trends and their implications.
- Outstanding planning and analytical capabilities, with the ability to focus on critical business issues.
- Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively engage with stakeholders across the Bank, partners, and external vendors.
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
