As the Director of Information Technology, you will lead the charge in driving transformation across the Ontario Public Service (OPS) with strategic technology leadership.

Job Summary:

The Enterprise Digital and Technology Strategy Division is at the forefront of driving the OPS mission by enabling efficient, value-driven and risk-reduced technical solutions at the enterprise level. As the Director of I&IT Architecture, Technology and Standards, you will lead a branch responsible for shaping the digital future of the OPS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and management of information technology (IT) architecture and business strategies
  • Develop, establish and manage architectures and frameworks to enable the design, delivery, and scaling of solutions, including enterprise target state architecture
  • Provide strategic leadership for the units of enterprise architecture, technology strategy and standards office
Executive Leadership:

You are an experienced leader with proven abilities in:

  • Providing leadership and direction to multi-disciplinary project teams in the development and implementation of digital techniques and develop long-term strategic strategies
  • Inclusive leader who values and creates a culture of diversity, inclusion and equity in the workplace
Relationship Management and Communication:

You will engage, build and maintain positive and sustained relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to anticipate, manage, and provide succinct briefings to senior management on contentious and high-profile issues.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of I&IT enterprise architecture with an understanding of technology, application, and data architecture domains
  • Experience developing technology strategies, roadmaps and target state architecture with enterprise mindset
  • Knowledge of technologies and industry standards such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud computing, and other core components of modern IT infrastructure and digital transformation strategies
  • Architectural certification or equivalent job experience

The OPS uses multiple methods to assess candidates for executive positions; these may include resume screening, interviews, assignments, psychometric assessments, simulations and reference checks.
