Position Overview: AECOM Building + Places Canada is currently seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to be based in the Montreal or Ottawa region.

AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a dynamic and expanding team that integrates architecture with various engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics, and asset management for design and infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a diverse range of projects, including transit systems, commercial buildings, and institutional structures.
  • Contribute to the design and construction of various building structures, ensuring high-quality and innovative solutions.
  • Utilize independent judgment to evaluate, analyze, and design structures using reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, and other materials.
  • Interpret project specifications, develop solutions, and perform structural analysis and design calculations.
  • Prepare contract drawings and specifications, conduct field investigations, and liaise with clients.
  • Supervise junior engineers and CAD technicians, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Approximately 4+ years of relevant experience in building structure design.
  • Licensed professional engineer preferred, with 8+ years of experience in designing transit facilities and other building types.
  • Strong skills in team collaboration, effective communication, and project management.
  • Proficient in structural analysis/design software such as SAP2000, and knowledgeable in MS Office applications.
  • Fluency in both French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
