Senior Structural Engineer

Entuitive is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Senior Structural Engineer who will work on small and medium projects and assist in maintaining a high level of service for the structural practice at Entuitive. The position will also involve growing our Special Projects team in Ottawa by working closely with the business development team and Entuitive's other special projects teams.

About Special Projects

The Special Project groups at Entuitive focus on small to medium projects of varying degrees of complexity requiring skills that span many areas of structural engineering. Special project work often involves adding to or modifying existing buildings or working with design teams to provide structural design for unique bespoke requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend client meetings from initial conception throughout the entire project.
  • Develop internal project budgets and generate fee proposals.
  • Review in-progress works on construction sites for compliance to issued documents.
  • Attend construction progress meetings to provide consultation and updates to the project team.
  • Pursue special projects growth opportunities by attending client meetings, events, and business development opportunities to grow your network.
Requirements
  • A degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • Experience in business development and writing proposals.
  • Experience in structural design and/or construction engineering for buildings.
  • Working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete, steel, wood, and masonry as well as historical materials and structural systems.
  • Working knowledge and ability to use various programs such as SAP, SAFE, Woodworks, Bluebeam, Hilti Profis.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
