Job Opportunity

Entuitive is seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our structural practice, you will work on small and medium projects, assisting in maintaining a high level of service and growing our Special Projects team in Ottawa.

About the Role

The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for delivering special projects work, including attending client meetings, developing internal project budgets, and reviewing existing structures. You will also work with architects and other consultants to prepare detailed structural designs and coordinate with Entuitive technologists to develop drawings for permit, tender, and construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver special projects work, including attending client meetings, developing internal project budgets, and reviewing existing structures.
  • Work with architects and other consultants to prepare detailed structural designs.
  • Coordinate with Entuitive technologists to develop drawings for permit, tender, and construction.
  • Pursue special projects growth opportunities by attracting new clients, attending client meetings, and growing the special project business.
  • Be responsible for the financial performance of projects, including monitoring internal project costs and reviewing monthly invoicing.
  • Mentor and train junior staff in technical aspects of structural design and practical aspects of project delivery.
Requirements
  • A degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
  • 7+ years of industry-related experience.
  • P.Eng. designation required.
  • Experience in business development and writing proposals.
  • Experience in structural design and/or construction engineering for buildings.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
