First Nations Engagement and Community Relations, the
Cultural Knowledge Guardian:
Indigenous Insights plays a pivotal role in integrating Indigenous content and viewpoints within Saskatoon Public Schools, aiming to foster culturally responsive educational settings and enhance student achievement.
The ideal candidate will possess a Grade 12 education or equivalent. Preference will be granted to individuals with further post-secondary education. A minimum of two years' experience in a relevant field (such as community organizations or social equity) is required, along with the capability to operate independently without direct oversight.
A profound understanding of Indigenous cultures, languages, histories, traditions, values, and perspectives is essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with Elders and Cultural Leaders.
The successful applicant will be adept at connecting with Indigenous and Metis cultural organizations and will cultivate and sustain positive working relationships with staff across schools, partnership entities, and Indigenous and Metis families and communities.
The candidate must be fluent in their Indigenous language. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment are necessary. Proficiency in computer applications, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office, is required. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are also essential.-
