About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator, Trade Contractors Specialist to join our team at Summa Architectural & Structural Metal Inc. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate and detailed estimates for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects, utilizing your expertise in quantity take-off procedures and cost monitoring.
  • Software Proficiency: Operate CADD and other computer software systems to prepare estimates and reports.
  • Communication: Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Project Management: Monitor and adjust contract expenditures, and prepare and maintain directories of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Reporting: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bids forms.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in estimating or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in CADD and other computer software systems.
