Job Summary

Summa Metal is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating the cost of materials and labor, preparing cost estimates, and conducting business cases for proposed projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the cost of materials and labor for various projects
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for clients
  • Conduct business cases and provide cost estimates for proposed projects
  • Read and interpret plans, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • Use computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) and other software systems
  • Evaluate costs prior to contract award
  • Implement monitoring and reporting processes
  • Prepare and maintain directories of suppliers and specialty trade contractors
  • Communicate and liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Relevant experience in cost estimation and project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
