About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Estimator, Trade Contractors Specialist to join our team at Summa Architectural & Structural Metal Inc. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, operating CADD and other computer software systems, and providing economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating: Prepare detailed estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects.
  • Quantity Surveying: Conduct quantity take-off procedures and advise on tendering procedures.
  • Cost Monitoring: Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
  • Communication: Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain directory of supplies and trade contractors, create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bids forms.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in architecture, commercial and/or industrial construction, institutional construction, or structural engineering.
  • Project Size Estimating Experience: $500,001 - $1,500,000.
