Position Overview:
The Intern will collaborate with the Plant-Based Foods of Canada team on various initiatives aimed at enhancing member engagement, developing our communication strategies, and promoting our organization's objectives.
This internship provides a practical experience in a vibrant setting, ideal for acquiring hands-on skills in communications, marketing, and member relations.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications:
Assist in the development and dissemination of newsletters and other communication materials. Aid in managing social media accounts, including content creation, scheduling, and engagement monitoring. Help keep the organization’s website updated with the latest news, events, and resources. Support the drafting and editing of articles, blog posts, and member highlights.
Member Services:
Assist in organizing member events, webinars, and meetings. Help maintain member databases and update contact details. Provide excellent customer service by responding to member inquiries via email and phone as needed.
Project Support:
Engage in creative development for social media, including content creation and scheduled postings. Assist in compiling a media contact list for outreach efforts. Review research studies to support content development for social media, newsletters, and blogs. Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing communication strategies and member services. Support special projects and initiatives, including marketing campaigns and promotional activities. Assist in preparing reports and presentations.
Administrative Support:
Assist with the planning and execution of team meetings and events. Provide bookkeeping support as necessary.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools; experience with design tools is a plus. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
