Overview:
Our client, a prominent player in the industrial manufacturing sector, is in search of a committed Industrial Equipment Technician to enhance their expanding workforce. This role is pivotal in ensuring the installation, upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of sophisticated machinery and equipment within the facility. The technician will play a crucial role in maintaining optimal machinery performance, thereby reducing downtime and ensuring production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize CMMS software daily to create, modify, and close work orders.
- Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Install, align, dismantle, and relocate stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, including pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators, according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and tractors to position machinery and components during installation, setup, and repair.
- Conduct inspections and examinations of machinery and equipment to identify and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, along with mechanical logic controls.
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective components.
- Utilize machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts necessary for machinery overhaul, maintenance, or setup.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Red Seal Millwright certification is required or actively engaged in an apprenticeship program nearing completion.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Forklift licensed, or willing to undergo training.
- Overhead Crane Operator licensed, or willing to undergo training.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong coordination and manual dexterity.
- Capacity to manage a heavy workload and adapt to interruptions and changing priorities.
- Proficient in completing paperwork and forms accurately.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with departmental work instructions, including health and safety regulations.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in using a variety of hand tools.
- Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces.
