Job Summary

The Electrical Technician role is a key production function, specializing in electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance to ensure equipment integrity and reliability. This role requires technical expertise to train and teach proper operations procedures to ensure equipment longevity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement predictive and preventative maintenance programs to ensure compliance with SISPQ.
  • Initiate and execute production maintenance projects, including electrical upgrades and improvements.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment, including computerized systems.
  • Diagnose problems using electrical testing equipment and perform work to CSA and ESA standards.
  • Supply training and coaching on equipment and take ownership of issues, working proactively to resolve.
  • Communicate issues and resolutions to peers, vendors, customers, and supervisors.
  • Be a team player and contribute to improving business processes.

Requirements

  • Ontario Industrial Electrician license (442A) or Construction and Maintenance Electrician License (309A) is required.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic and electrical control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Electronics or Electro-Mechanical Technician or Technologist Diploma is an asset.
  • Programming and troubleshooting experience with Allen Bradley SLC500 PLCs and other systems is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
