Hazelwood Construction Services, Inc., part of The Hazelwood Group, is currently seeking Forepersons and Superintendents for various projects across the region.

Union rates apply, and all benefits are administered through the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 115.

Compensation Details

  • Hourly wage: $38 to $45 based on position, experience, and qualifications.
  • Vacation pay: 13% of your hourly wage.
  • Benefits eligibility: After completing 250 hours of work.
  • Pension contributions: $4.80 per hour worked.

Role Responsibilities

The Foreperson is responsible for overseeing and motivating the crew to ensure timely project completion. This role involves ensuring compliance with site regulations and monitoring work quality. The Foreperson will also liaise with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, maintaining equipment, and managing documentation. The Foreperson may also participate in hands-on work alongside the crew.

The Superintendent is accountable for comprehensive project management across multiple sites, including planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating construction activities from inception to completion. This role involves monitoring the performance of workers and subcontractors to ensure efficient, effective, and safe operations. A strong commitment to workplace health and safety is essential, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in civil construction.
  • At least 5 years of experience in site management.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction practices, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with job site machinery and equipment.
