About the Role

As a Technical Director - Design at FNX-INNOV, you will play a key role in the success of our projects by providing technical support, resolving issues, and sharing your expertise to ensure quality and client satisfaction while respecting agreed-upon timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership
    • Share expertise: You will be a mentor to project team members, offering technical expertise and answering their questions. Your goal is to promote professional development and technical excellence within the team.
    • Rapid problem-solving: You will intervene quickly at the request of project managers to resolve technical issues encountered in projects, ensuring that your intervention is carried out in a reasonable timeframe to maintain the project schedule and quality.
    • Tool development: You will design and develop calculation tools, as requested by management, to improve operational efficiency and profitability of services, allowing the team to work more efficiently and accurately.
    • Client technical support: You will provide technical support to clients, upon request and in agreement with the project manager, to help them make informed decisions on technical choices.
    • Professional responsibility: As a designer or verifier on projects, you will assume responsibility for plans, estimates, and invoices.
    • Quality control of deliverables: You will play a key role in review committees to ensure the quality of deliverables when necessary. Your expertise is essential to ensure compliance with technical standards and specifications of various clients.
    • Technician orientation: You will dedicate time to orienting drafters in advance and throughout projects to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables.
    • Other related tasks

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec
  • 10 years of relevant experience in study projects, capacity evaluation, and detailed design projects targeting bridges and structures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project software
  • Knowledge of the standards and procedures of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of Quebec
  • Having followed the required training by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility of Quebec
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary projects
  • Rigorous, methodical, analytical spirit, and teamwork skills
