Job Description

Role Overview

CIMA+ is a consulting engineering firm renowned for its expertise in preserving and restoring heritage buildings. We're seeking a civil engineer with a passion for preserving architectural heritage to join our team. As a Heritage Building Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborating closely with architects, historic building experts, and other industry professionals.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct structural assessments and analyses of heritage buildings to ensure their safety and integrity.
  2. Design restoration and rehabilitation plans that take into account historical and architectural features.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate customer needs and regulatory requirements into project design.
  4. Prepare technical reports and tender documents to support project proposals.
  5. Contribute to the design of components for various structures, including steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
  6. Perform calculations using specialized software, carry out expert assessments, and supervise asset maintenance work on existing buildings.
  7. Participate in the management of projects, schedules, and budgets, in collaboration with project managers and project directors.
  8. Work with local authorities and conservation organizations to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Qualifications
  1. University degree in civil or building engineering or equivalent.
  2. Membre of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  3. A minimum of two years' relevant experience in building structure design and site inspection.
  4. Keen interest in developing skills in the design and management of heritage building projects.
  5. Creative, focused on solutions respecting the building's heritage features, restoration, and sustainability.
  6. Proficiency in ETABS, ADA, and SAFE software.
  7. Proficiency in spoken and written French.
