Position Overview

This role is integral to our office structure, allowing flexibility in work location, whether from home, a NORR office, or a remote setting. NORR is a globally recognized architecture and engineering firm, owned by its employees. Our diverse team of 800 professionals operates across 12 market sectors in Canada, the US, UK, and UAE. With over 85 years of experience, we prioritize design thinking to innovate solutions that benefit both people and the environment. Our hybrid work model fosters collaboration through advanced design technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data from various reports and documents to comprehend the overall project requirements.
  • Create architectural designs that deliver high-quality solutions while adhering to project timelines and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Incorporate engineering specifications, site assessments, and field review data, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Produce design documentation, including reports, drawings, and models, in accordance with office standards.
  • Conduct site visits to verify adherence to construction documents, addressing any discrepancies with the owner and contractor promptly.
  • Evaluate project deliverables, services, and shop drawings to confirm compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and corporate quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Skilled in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and PhotoShop.
  • Knowledgeable about MEP and structural systems, as well as building codes.
  • Possess relevant post-secondary education.
  • Registration with a recognized professional architectural association is advantageous.

Experience Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in project work.
  • Experience with public building projects is a plus.
