Edelman Montreal is seeking an Account Manager with robust earned media expertise to manage technology client portfolios (covering both consumer technology and B2B sectors). The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in crafting compelling narratives that capture the attention of both media and consumers. A thorough understanding of the evolving earned media landscape is essential, along with the ability to develop a media strategy that yields impactful results, secure high-profile coverage, provide influencer recommendations, and operate within an integrated marketing framework.

Your proven track record in delivering strong media outcomes for clients, combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills, will be crucial in this role.

Working closely with senior staff, you will play a key role in executing communication strategies aligned with client objectives.

This position offers the chance to implement innovative campaigns across a diverse range of accounts, including telecommunications, security, gaming, gadgets & entertainment, and enterprise technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit a deep understanding of the Quebec news and media landscape, with the ability to strategize effectively on how to present a client's story to increasingly limited newsrooms.
  • Comprehend essential client information, including business strategies, industry challenges, products and services, key customers, and competitors.
  • Provide administrative support for client services; participate in meetings, manage scheduling logistics, and prepare agendas and summaries.
  • Conduct research, compile, and analyze the media landscape relevant to core technology journalists and outlets.
  • Write, edit, and proofread various materials, including press releases, pitch letters, fact sheets, and client communications.
  • Develop media lists and execute media outreach.
  • Embody the Edelman values: relentless pursuit of excellence, a commitment to curiosity, and the courage to act ethically.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Communication or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Over 3 years of relevant experience in earned media or communications, particularly with enterprise technology, gaming, gadgets, or consumer technology clients.
  • In-depth knowledge of the technology media landscape in Quebec and Canada.
  • Proven media relations experience, along with an understanding of how to compile and present media results.
  • Client service experience is essential, demonstrating the ability to address client concerns thoughtfully and effectively.
  • Strong references from previous employers.
  • Fluency in both French and English, with a nuanced understanding of Quebecois culture.
  • A collaborative team player capable of managing junior team members while working directly with senior staff.
