We are in search of a dedicated Senior Vice President of Client Relations. Could you be the one?

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the generation of both traditional and innovative business opportunities, while nurturing positive relationships with key stakeholders and addressing client needs effectively.

  • You will cultivate a comprehensive understanding of our clients' strategies, clearly defining business potential in alignment with established risk appetites.
  • Your accountability will extend to identifying and responding to current and future demand trends in both conventional and customized reinsurance.
  • You will formulate client-specific hypotheses grounded in quantitative analysis and develop tailored sales strategies for our diverse range of products and services, crafting high-quality, client-focused sales presentations.
  • Your collaborative spirit will shine as you work across client management to uncover non-traditional opportunities and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Strong negotiation skills will be essential as you engage with clients and brokers, working alongside underwriting and specialist units to facilitate deal prospecting, preparation, and closure; you will also conduct post-mortem reviews and provide recommendations for future endeavors.
  • You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining best practices and processes that support underwriting, actuarial, and finance functions.
  • Your role will involve advocating for the use of structured financial reinsurance within the market.
Qualifications
  • First and foremost, you will exhibit exceptional leadership and achievement, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm for change, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact.

Additionally, we seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in re-/insurance, ideally with an actuarial background.
  • A proactive contributor, you will drive new ideas and initiatives to meet client demands and continuously position Munich Re of Canada as a market leader.
  • High emotional intelligence will be vital for fostering strong client and team relationships while contributing to a positive workplace culture.
  • Your ability to negotiate favorable outcomes will be crucial for ensuring long-term profitability.
  • Solid knowledge of Corporate Finance and Capital Management, including Financial Statements, Financial Analysis, and the implications of new solvency regimes.
  • A proven track record in securing non-traditional reinsurance arrangements.
  • Experience managing significant projects involving numerous internal and external stakeholders.
  • A history of building and maintaining robust client relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and investigative skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
