The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is currently seeking a full-time Lead Systems Analyst to join our Client Technology Team within the IT Services Department. This position plays a vital role in fostering relationships with our clients and ensuring the effective delivery of services provided by the Endpoint Services group.

The Lead Systems Analyst will oversee assignment coordination and serve as a key escalation point for subject matter expertise within the team. This role involves close collaboration with the management to align resources and ensure operational efficiency across various projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities
Coordination:
  • Facilitating collaboration among CT groups and other IT Services teams to synchronize activities.
  • Working alongside project managers and business analysts to integrate operational tasks with ongoing initiatives.
  • Managing resources within the Endpoint Services group to optimize daily operations.
Operational Leadership:
  • Acting as the technical lead for services offered by Endpoint Services.
  • Engaging in tier 1 to tier 3 operational tasks as required.
Facilitation:
  • Leading meetings, workshops, and training sessions pertinent to operational functions.
  • Serving as a mediator to resolve conflicts or challenges that may emerge during project execution.
Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborating with the Endpoint Services group to formulate detailed plans for operational activities, establishing clear objectives and timelines.
  • Identifying necessary resources, including personnel and budget, to support operational efforts.
  • Developing contingency plans to address potential risks or disruptions.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Ensuring that operational activities adhere to organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Conducting quality assurance assessments to verify that processes and systems function correctly.
  • Regularly reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness.
Documentation:
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all operational activities, including plans and progress reports.
  • Recording lessons learned and best practices to enhance future operational strategies.
Communication:
  • Ensuring consistent communication with stakeholders to provide updates on operational status.
  • Sharing relevant information with appropriate parties in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identifying opportunities for enhancing operational processes.
  • Implementing changes to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Conducting evaluations post-activity to gather feedback for future improvements.
Risk Management:
  • Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate their impact.
  • Monitoring risks throughout the year and adjusting plans as necessary.
Team Leadership:
  • Leading a team of analysts responsible for executing operational tasks.
  • Providing guidance and support to team members to ensure successful outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Degree in science or business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience in an IT environment, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong supervisory skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with IT Service Management software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft, Apple, mobility, and virtualization technologies.
  • Valid driver's license.
