The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Senior Network Operations Analyst to join our Client Technology Team within the IT Services Department.

The Senior Network Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in managing client relationships and overseeing services delivered by the Endpoint Services group. This position is responsible for coordinating assignments, administration, and serving as a subject matter expert within the team.

Working closely with the Manager, the Analyst will coordinate resources and coverage for operational activities and projects across the IT Services Department.

Key responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on activities, escalating unresolved issues to management, and collaborating with the team to identify potential risks while developing effective risk mitigation strategies. The Analyst will also contribute to budget planning, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and participate in departmental planning activities.

As an advocate for our clients, the Senior Network Operations Analyst will serve as a resourceful ambassador for IT Services, supporting both the team and our clients in a leadership role.

This position primarily operates from our Burnaby campus, with occasional travel required to other campuses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with project managers, business analysts, and IT Services staff to ensure seamless integration of operational activities with ongoing projects.
  • Leading technical services provided by Endpoint Services.
  • Facilitating meetings, workshops, and training sessions related to operational activities.
  • Acting as a mediator to resolve conflicts or address issues during planning and execution.

Planning:

  • Creating contingency plans to address potential risks or disruptions.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Conducting quality assurance checks on operational processes and systems.
  • Regularly reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational effectiveness.
  • Documenting lessons learned and best practices for future improvements.

Risk Management:

Collaborating with Client Technology groups to identify risks and develop strategies to minimize unforeseen challenges. Monitoring and assessing risks throughout the year and adjusting plans as necessary.

Qualifications include:

  • A diploma from an Institute of Technology or a Bachelor's Degree in science or business.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in an IT environment, including two (2) years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent supervisory skills in managing teams within a complex environment.
  • Experience with IT Service Management software, incident tracking, and service fulfillment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft, Apple, mobility, and virtualization technologies.
  • Conflict resolution training is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
