About the Role

Wood's Homes is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Youth and Family Counsellor to join our Cottage 1 Program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to children, youth, and families in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote personal and social growth for each client.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients and their families.
  • Provide crisis intervention and emergency response services as needed.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies and procedures to ensure a safe and supportive environment for clients and staff.

Requirements

  • Diploma or undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as social work, child and youth care, or psychology.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with children, youth, and families in a residential setting.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
