Job Description

**About the Role**

Venters Recruits is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Director to lead our retail sales team in the plumbing and construction industry. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive retail sales strategy to drive growth and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Retail Sales Strategy: Create and implement a strategic plan to meet and exceed revenue targets, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion in the retail space.
  • Lead and Mentor Sales Team: Manage and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of success and professional development, and providing coaching and guidance to ensure team members achieve their goals.
  • Build and Maintain Retail Partner Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, ensuring alignment with company goals and increasing market share through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Market Expansion and Performance Monitoring: Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the retail space, expanding the company's footprint in key regions, and regularly assess sales performance to provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance results.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and distribution teams to align on product offerings, promotions, and market positioning, ensuring a cohesive and effective sales strategy.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the retail sales budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and resource allocation, and maintaining a deep understanding of customer needs and trends within the plumbing and construction industry to tailor sales approaches effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience: In retail sales, ideally within the plumbing, construction, or related industries.
  • Proven Leadership: A proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with key retail partners and customers.
  • Sales Acumen: A results-driven professional with a deep understanding of retail sales processes, market trends, and customer behavior.
  • Adaptability: Ability to develop long-term sales strategies while being adaptable to market changes and business needs.
  • Education: A degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
