Job Title: IHealth Division Lead - Medical Subspecialties

Island Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced healthcare professional to lead the development of clinical standards and order sets for medical subspecialties. As an IHealth Division Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and promoting high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical standards and order sets for medical subspecialties, in collaboration with healthcare teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of condition-specific documentation and specialty-specific requirements, ensuring alignment with Island Health's Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
  • Harmonize order sets for use on paper and in Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) systems, adhering to Island Health's standards and best practices.
  • Ensure linkage to Quality Councils and co-chairs through regular reporting and escalation.
  • Liaise with informatics, pharmacy, nursing, and allied health teams to ensure successful development and adoption of clinical order sets.
  • Support IHealth change management by engaging with specialty colleagues and participating in change activities, such as workflow validation and simulation exercises.
  • Ensure clinical and professional legislative, accreditation, or practice requirements are met.
  • Participate in testing events to ensure the EHR meets clinical workflow requirements and best practice requirements.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the EHR and related systems through participating in lessons learned, provider experience feedback, benefits evaluation, and metrics.
Requirements:
  • Experience in healthcare governance, clinical standards development, and order set implementation.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with diverse healthcare teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Island Health's Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, as well as clinical best practices and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to quality patient care.
