Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at Wood Street Centre Residential Treatment. The successful candidate will provide a range of services to youth, including assessment, diagnosis, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual needs.
The Psychologist will work collaboratively with a team of professionals, including youth workers, social workers, teachers, registered nurses, occupational therapists, and consulting psychiatrists, to provide stabilization, assessment, and treatment services to children and youth with complex behavioral and emotional challenges.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a recognized Master's degree in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology, and registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners (NSBEP). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of relevant experience, with a strong background in mental health and an understanding of the impact of childhood trauma.
The successful candidate will have experience in the assessment and treatment of youth with significant emotional and behavioral disorders, and will be able to work competently with children, adolescents, families, groups, community representatives, and agencies.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment, diagnosis, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual needs for youth with complex behavioral and emotional challenges
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide stabilization, assessment, and treatment services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each youth
- Provide psychoeducational assessments and diagnostic evaluations, using DSM5 criteria
- Deliver DBT skills groups and CBT groups for anxiety and depression
- Provide clinical supervision and support to team members
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Recognized Master's degree in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology
- Registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners (NSBEP)
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in mental health
- Experience in the assessment and treatment of youth with significant emotional and behavioral disorders
- Ability to work competently with children, adolescents, families, groups, community representatives, and agencies
- Strong assessment skills and comfort with diagnostics using DSM5 criteria
- Competency in psychoeducational assessment
- Excellent documentation/report writing skills
- Ability to establish models of care based on programming needs
- Ability to evaluate progress and adapt therapy as required
- Strong CBT and DBT skills
