We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at Wood Street Centre Residential Treatment. As a member of this team, you will provide a range of services to youth, including assessment, diagnosis, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual needs.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology, registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners, and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. You will have a strong background in mental health, an understanding of the impact of childhood trauma, and experience in the assessment and treatment of youth with significant emotional and behavioral disorders.
We are looking for a candidate who can work competently with children, adolescents, families, groups, community representatives, and agencies. You will have demonstrated ability to employ a trauma-informed lens to therapeutic interventions and experience in utilizing the ARC model. Strong assessment skills, comfort with diagnostics utilizing DSM5 criteria, and competency in psychoeducational assessment are also essential.
The successful candidate will have excellent documentation/report writing skills, ability to establish models of care based on programming needs, and ability to evaluate progress and adapt therapy as required. Strong CBT and DBT skills, ability to deliver DBT skills group and CBT groups for anxiety and depression, and ability to work independently and cooperatively on an interdisciplinary team are also required.
About You- Recognized Master's degree in Clinical Psychology or School Psychology
- Registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners and in good standing
- Minimum of two years relevant experience with a strong background in mental health and understanding of childhood trauma
- Experience in the assessment and treatment of youth with significant emotional and behavioral disorders

- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
