About the Opportunity:

At Wood Street Centre Residential Treatment, we provide stabilization, assessment, and treatment services to children and youth facing complex behavioral and emotional challenges. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering individualized care plans tailored to each young person's needs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of youth with mental health concerns.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, incorporating a trauma-informed lens.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to support emotional well-being.
  • Advocate for the needs of our young clients within the healthcare system.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a qualified Psychologist with:

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Psychologists.
  • Experience working with children and youth experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
