Position Overview: The Mobile Software Engineer will play a crucial role in the design, development, and upkeep of a mobile application aimed at enhancing student recruitment efforts and providing ongoing assistance to current students.

This role is essential within the IT department, focusing on the creation of mobile applications for various platforms, including iOS, Android, and Windows, utilizing cross-platform frameworks such as Xamarin or .NET MAUI. The primary objective is to develop an application that supports students throughout their enrollment journey and enhances their overall experience while attending the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced mobile applications to improve the student experience.
  • Create user interfaces that are intuitive, visually appealing, and responsive.
  • Develop application prototypes and conduct usability testing to gather feedback for design improvements.
  • Collaborate with the development team to design mobile app features and integrate them with existing backend systems.
  • Monitor application performance using analytics tools and address any issues that arise.
  • Provide regular updates and patches to enhance app functionality based on user feedback.
  • Continuously maintain and upgrade mobile applications to align with new platform releases.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Implement new features and enhancements based on user feedback and evolving institutional needs.
  • Connect mobile app features to existing institutional content and services.
  • Address bugs and improve application performance.
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support staff in their roles or assist the institution in achieving its goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred specialized courses or certifications in iOS, Android, .NET MAUI (or Xamarin).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Mobile App Development.
  • Experience in iOS and/or Android app development.
  • Demonstrated experience with published iOS and/or Android applications.
  • Strong familiarity with iOS, Android, or multi-platform development.
  • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
  • Solid understanding of the complete mobile development life cycle.
