Role Overview

The Director of Contract Management is tasked with leading a team of specialists dedicated to the review, drafting, negotiation, and interpretation of contract terms and conditions. This role is crucial for securing optimal conditions for Andritz, minimizing project risks, and safeguarding our contractual rights. We seek a seasoned leader with extensive experience in EPC capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

This position encompasses three primary areas of responsibility within our North American division:

Sales & Tendering:

  • Lead a team of Contract Managers in proposal preparation, including contract redlines and internal approvals, while negotiating contracts with clients;
  • Provide contractual guidance on escalated risks and commercial issues during the tendering and negotiation phases;
  • Engage with proposal teams and Contract Managers in negotiations for significant projects as needed;

Project Execution:

  • Oversee contract management processes across business segments;
  • Offer expertise in contract interpretation and guide project teams in managing contract deviations (change orders, claims, amendments, etc.);
  • Support project teams in negotiating major claims and change orders as required;

Administrative Duties:

  • Establish annual goals and objectives for the department;
  • Plan departmental resources effectively;
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members;
  • Collaborate with HR on all personnel matters, including recruitment, retention, and career development;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the contract management team in partnership with HR;

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in contract administration;
  • A degree in Commerce, Administration, Engineering, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex supply and purchase agreements within project contexts;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
  • Advanced knowledge of business law, including commercial and contract principles;
  • Experience in the hydroelectric or construction sectors is advantageous;
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
