Toronto Hydro is seeking a highly organized and motivated Finance Operations Specialist to provide essential administrative support to our Controllership, Internal Audit, and Compliance department leaders.

This role will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of finance processes and fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to leaders, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and presentation assistance. Collaborate with process stakeholders to ensure timely completion of deliverables and adherence to quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries related to finance. Independently handle general requests and information dissemination on behalf of leadership. Deliver presentations and liaise with other finance professionals on processes and administrative initiatives.
  • Maintain meticulous records through filing, scanning, and document management. Execute ad-hoc tasks to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Team.
  • Prepare agendas, action logs, and essential documents for Management Systems updates. Cultivate strong working relationships with team members to proactively enhance departmental processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline finance operations and implement system enhancements that boost efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • One or more years of experience in office administration within a medium to large organization with established processes.
  • Proven proficiency in utilizing large ERP financial systems (SAP preferred).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of workflows and the ability to learn and adapt to new software applications (e.g., document management systems and collaboration tools).
  • Highly adaptable and flexible with the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Resourceful and capable of influencing personnel to achieve organizational goals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism, sound decision-making, and high-quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated accountability, self-motivation, creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring work is completed with minimal errors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to make sound judgments and exercise discretion when handling confidential information or responding to inquiries.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize tasks based on changing demands.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to embrace new assignments and adjust existing work plans to meet immediate priorities.
  • Maintains a positive and collaborative attitude towards work assignments.
