Business Analyst with Insurance Expertise

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with a strong background in the insurance industry to join our team. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in understanding and documenting business requirements, working closely with stakeholders to design and implement solutions that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with existing and prospective users to understand and document their information needs, predicated on an understanding of both business processes and the business decisions that users need to make.
  • Provide Business Analyst support to Business Intelligence projects to enable them to meet their deadlines.
  • Work with IT colleagues to understand and document available data sources and their interrelation.
  • Collaborate with other team members to design solutions that meet the established business needs.
  • Document requirements in a format that is intelligible to both business partners and IT colleagues.
  • Analyze and document available data sources and data flows to standards and in a consistent manner.

Requirements:

  • Experience of fulfilling a Business Analyst role in the full life-cycle of a Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence project.
  • Experience of working as a Business Intelligence Business Analyst within the London Market.
  • A thoroughgoing knowledge of the commercial Insurance and reinsurance industry.
  • Degree educated.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the collateral factors that lead to success in Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence projects, including user engagement, prototyping, Master Data Management, data quality, and educational approach.
  • Experience of working collaboratively in an agile manner.

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of SQL, data analysis, reporting, and modeling tools.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server and the associated Microsoft Business Intelligence stack, including Master Data Services and Data Quality Services desirable.
