Job Title: Transportation Coordinator

Family and Children's Services Niagara is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transportation Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Volunteer Services department, you will be responsible for coordinating transportation services for children and families, ensuring efficient and timely operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation Scheduling: Coordinate requests for assignment and assign volunteer drivers to drive children and their families to medical appointments, agency appointments, supervised visits, counseling, and other activities.
  • Database Management: Maintain a database of volunteer drivers, their availability, and any drive restrictions.
  • Communication: Liaise with foster parents, workers, schools, daycares, and volunteers to coordinate drive schedules.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of drive schedules, volunteer driver information, and client data.
  • Training and Support: Provide training to volunteers on car seat usage and safety, and offer general guidance and support to volunteer drivers.
Administrative Support:
  • Application Processing: Process all types of applications for volunteers, including data entry and minute taking.
  • Communication: Respond to telephone calls, emails, and other messages, directing messages and providing information and/or assistance as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Assist with the preparation, completion, input, maintenance, tracking, and review of volunteer applications, data, records, and volunteer verification documents.
  • Volunteer Services: Assist the volunteer department in preparation for reviews, audits, or other similar processes to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary School diploma.
  • Experience: Experience working with volunteers an asset.
  • Skills: Good ability to use MS Office applications, good written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to complete tasks with attention to detail in the presence of frequent interruptions.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Environment: Work is primarily performed at a desk in a normal office environment.
  • Physical Demands: Intermediate periods of sitting and computer/phone use, occasional lifting of boxes up to 10lbs.
