Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Civil Engineer with expertise in Civil & Structural Engineering to join our Project Management team. The Project Management Teams are responsible for delivering top-tier capital projects, ensuring they are executed safely, on time, within budget, and adhering to the highest standards of integrity and compliance. This role involves overseeing engineering design, procurement, and construction for a range of projects, from small initiatives to large-scale mega projects. The Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that all aspects of engineering design, procurement, construction, and project completion align with project objectives and contractual obligations, including schedule, cost, health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage capital projects in accordance with defined scope, timelines, and financial parameters.
  • Conduct complex technical and administrative tasks related to the design and coordination of civil and structural packages.
  • Provide technical guidance and review for the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup phases of facilities.
  • Address technical challenges throughout all project phases related to civil and structural components.
  • Oversee project development, including engineering studies, technical bid evaluations, preliminary engineering, detailed designs, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, and startup.
  • Review and ensure compliance of civil and structural designs with established standards and specifications.
  • Supervise design contractor activities during the development of preliminary and detailed engineering phases, including project scope and scheduling.
  • Stay informed on international project management procedures, engineering standards, procurement processes, and best practices.
  • Thoroughly understand contract documents, project execution plans, and change management processes to ensure timely project completion.
  • Monitor contractor activities during construction to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of civil and structural deliverables, including plot plans, foundation details, load assessments, and geotechnical studies.
  • Assist in the identification, sizing, and procurement of civil and structural materials.
  • Provide design input for various facilities, including pipe racks, substations, and process plants.
  • Define change order scopes, estimate costs, and support project management in the change management process.
  • Review project progress reports, including financial and scheduling updates, and participate in project meetings.
  • Coordinate and monitor project schedules and contractor performance.
  • Review and validate contractor invoices and submissions.
  • Implement company initiatives during project execution and provide routine civil and structural support.
  • Develop and review testing procedures for civil and structural packages.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to relocate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution; advanced degrees are preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector, with a focus on Civil & Structural Engineering, including at least five years of field experience.
  • Expertise in Civil & Structural Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience in engineering design and construction phases, with a solid understanding of international codes and standards.
  • Proactive approach to project improvements and cost savings; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work in diverse teams and adapt to various locations as necessary.
