Job Summary

The Production Manager - Operations Excellence is a key leadership role responsible for driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in a specific operating department within Solid Dose Operations. As a member of the Production leadership team, this individual will lead the development and execution of department action plans to achieve strategic objectives in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Employee Development.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Strategic Planning: Provide visible, results-oriented leadership that drives continuous improvement consistent with the Operations Strategic Plan. Actively participate in the development of the annual site work plan and ensure that department activities are aligned with the plan.
  2. Department Management: Perform all work in support of our Values of Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion. Employ strategies that fully engage all department employees in the pursuit of Compliance and Reliability as inseparable objectives.
  3. Relationship Building: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key business partners outside of Production, including HR, Formulations, Logistics, Facilities, and QA. Utilize these relationships to drive cross-functional improvement opportunities in a productive manner.
  4. Audit Readiness: Ensure the department is audit-ready at all times.
  5. Operational Excellence: Drive a daily operating focus that maximizes the effectiveness of the facility and promotes problem-solving on the team level.
  6. Staffing and Performance Management: Develop and maintain staffing plans within approved levels. Ensure proactive performance management through annual reviews and regular balanced feedback.
  7. Policy Enforcement: Ensure company policies are consistently and fairly applied in the department.
  8. Training and Development: Support training for all employees (including self) and ensure training records are current and complete for all personnel.
  9. Representation: Represent the interests of Production Operations in the absence of the Director.
  10. Performance Conversations: Participate and lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one-on-ones, to connect on performance, check in on employee progress, offer support, and remove barriers.
  11. Communication and Leadership: Utilize open, honest, two-way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners, and direct leaders while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development.
  12. Culture Development: Create a culture that values trust and provides opportunities for employee development and growth in pursuit of our purpose and demonstrating our core Values - Collaboration, Courage, Perseverance, and Passion.
  13. Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Utilize your networks to attract and hire talent in a comprehensive, differentiated, and consistent manner essential to our continued growth. Onboard new employees by providing a consistent experience that reflects the values and commitments made to candidates during the hiring process.
  14. Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure adherence of team members (direct reports) with all compliance programs and company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree or related discipline.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated interpersonal savvy and relationship management/networking skills. Strong ability to deal with ambiguity and manage through difficult situations. Excellent ability to delegate and effect change through others without direct involvement. Strong written and oral communication skills. Exercises innovative tactics and encourages others to demonstrate creative approaches.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in Production, with 3-5 years in a management role. Experience with FDA and HPFBI inspections.
