Senior Communications Specialist

BMO Financial Group is seeking a skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team on a 7-month contract.
This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can effectively communicate complex technical information to various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Support communications for incidents/issues/defects that occur in production and require internal (and possibly external) communications.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess communication content requirements and develop targeted messaging.
- Draft and send internal emails to describe and provide updates on technology issues/service outages.
- Post notices online and create executive update decks to support reporting needs.
- Liaise with comms, key stakeholders, and other teams to ensure seamless communication.
- Track adoption/progress at the people leader/manager and employee levels.
- Document and track workstreams and project plans re: Winning Culture status and assign red, yellow, green ratings for things that are on track, at risk, off track, etc.
- 5-7 years of experience in communications/technical writing.
- Experience in the financial services/banking industry is a plus.
- Ability to take complex technical jargon and distill it into simple, easy-to-understand language.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
