Job Title: Safe Rides Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Safe Rides Coordinator to join our team at All Nations Coordinated Response Network. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and youth in care.

Job Summary:

The Safe Rides Coordinator will be responsible for receiving calls from children/youth, child and family services (CFS) workers, parents, community members, and other service providers who are reporting children in care who are absent from placement. You will triage those calls to determine if they need to be forwarded to police, ANCR After Hours Program, or dispatched to the Safe Ride team to assist in the safe return to placement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and respond to calls from various stakeholders regarding missing/absent children and youth in care.
  • Triage calls to determine the level of response required, including forwarding to police or dispatching to the Safe Ride team.
  • Monitor all communications and track the whereabouts of the team to ensure the safety of team members and children/youth.
  • Collaborate with CFS workers, parents, and community members to ensure the safe return of children/youth to placement.
  • Provide support and guidance to team members as needed.
Requirements:
  • Diploma/Certificate in Child & Youth Care, or other relevant discipline, a degree in the social services field would be a definite asset.
  • Minimum of three years experience in front line work, including outreach services, other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Independent capacity to maintain records, including previous experience entering data and generating reports.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous and multi-cultural contexts and demonstrated skill working with cross cultural environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook is a requirement.
  • Experience with CFSIS/Intake Module is an asset.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and CFS Prior Contact check.
  • Must have valid driver's license and a vehicle with $2,000,000 liability insurance and provide a personal driver abstract.
  • Emergency First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training is an asset.
