Position Overview

The User Terminal Project Coordinator - Antennas is a pivotal role within Telesat, a prominent global satellite operator with over 50 years of experience in delivering secure satellite communications solutions. This position is integral to the engineering team, focusing on collaboration with external technology vendors to develop user terminal solutions tailored for various market segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and uphold project timelines, schedules, and milestones for multiple user terminal vendors, including flat panel antenna development.
  • Facilitate project coordination among cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with delivery timelines and budget constraints.
  • Oversee project scope, including contracts, statements of work, and monthly executive reporting, while managing risks and opportunities.
  • Track and report on the progress of user terminal programs, including flat panel antennas.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of both internal and external development efforts, identifying risks and challenges for the overall program.
  • Generate necessary documentation for effective management and execution of user terminal programs in collaboration with engineering experts.
  • Prepare and disseminate regular project status updates to stakeholders, highlighting risks, changes, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, preferably in communication systems or satellite terminals.
  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a STEM discipline.
  • A Master's degree or MBA is advantageous.
  • Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Experience collaborating with external vendors, including design and manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
  • PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Work Environment

  • This role is based in an office environment with a hybrid work model.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Candidates must be eligible for relevant security clearance.
