Position: User Terminal Project Coordinator - Antennas
This role is integral to the existing engineering team, focusing on collaboration with external technology vendors to provide user terminal solutions for Telesat. Reporting to the Director of UT Program Management, this position will oversee the development of user terminals tailored for various market segments considered by Telesat.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, and milestones for multiple user terminal vendors, including flat panel antenna development and terminal integrators.
  2. Coordinate project activities across cross-functional teams, including system engineering, user terminal engineering, program management, and commercial sectors to ensure compliant solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  3. Oversee the scope (contract, statement-of-work, work-breakdown-structure, monthly executive reporting) requirements, schedule, milestones, risks, opportunities, and budget.
  4. Manage UT programs, including flat panel antennas, and report on their progress.
  5. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of both internal and external vendor development, identifying risks and challenges for the overall Lightspeed program.
  6. Generate necessary documentation for effective management and execution of UT programs in collaboration with technical experts within the engineering team.
  7. Prepare and disseminate regular project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting risks, changes, and mitigation strategies.
Education & Experience Required
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, preferably in communication systems or satellite terminals.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in a STEM discipline.
  3. A Master's degree or MBA is advantageous.
  4. Proficient in project management tools, including Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software (e.g., Primavera Cloud, Primavera P6, Jira).
  5. Experience collaborating with external vendors, including design and manufacturing facilities.
  6. Ability to prioritize opportunities, needs, and resources effectively.
  7. PMP Certification is a plus.
  8. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Supervision Exercised

This role does not have direct reports but is expected to lead multi-disciplinary project teams and provide technical assistance or guidance to other engineers or specialists, as well as supervise suppliers/contractors during supplier-facing activities.

Working Conditions

This position is based out of the Ottawa, ON office. It offers full-time office or hybrid work arrangements, subject to operational needs. The working environment is generally comfortable and typical of an office setting. Occasional travel, including international travel, may be required. Candidates must be able to obtain relevant security clearance if based in Canada.
