About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Manager, Sales and Marketing to join our team at Gay Lea Foods. As a key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in developing and executing strategic sales and marketing plans to drive revenue growth and expand market share.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Execute Sales and Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to drive business growth and expand market share, including identifying new business opportunities and developing partnerships with key stakeholders.
  2. Lead and Develop Sales and Marketing Team: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team to ensure achievement of organizational targets and objectives.
  3. Set Clear Objectives and KPIs: Establish clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales and marketing teams to measure success and drive performance.
  4. Conduct Market Analysis: Conduct regular market analysis to assess the effectiveness of sales and marketing strategies and identify opportunities for improvement.
  5. Provide Insights and Reporting: Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on market trends and performance, including identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  6. Support Marketing Efforts: Collaborate with the marketing team to create and communicate consistent content to protect and grow the business, including developing marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
  7. Establish and Maintain Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing distribution partnerships, including identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  8. Identify New Business Opportunities: Identify, develop, and secure new business outreach strategies to drive company growth and profitability, including building relationships with key stakeholders and identifying new business opportunities.
  9. Build and Maintain a Robust Pipeline: Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new potential distribution partners across Canada, including identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
  10. Stay Current on Industry Trends: Stay current on the latest industry trends, including feeding technologies that will allow Gay Lea Foods to continue to differentiate and lead in the industry.
  11. Develop Strategic Relationships: Develop strong connections with leading researchers, consultants, veterinarians, and influencers to identify collaboration opportunities to advance our knowledge and brand.
  12. Drive Sales Growth: Develop the ability to go direct to larger farms to pull sales through existing channels of distribution.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 5 Years of Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience leading sales and marketing, with a proven track record of setting both strategic and tactical plans to deliver profitable growth, preferably in an Animal Nutrition or Agricultural capacity.
  2. Demonstrated Track Record: Demonstrated track record of successfully growing in market, creating new business opportunities, and attracting new customers.
  3. Strong Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, negotiation, and networking skills. Preferably already highly visible in the agricultural community.
  4. Prior Leadership Experience: Prior leadership experience providing support to Sales and Marketing teams.
  5. Strategic Thinker: Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Relationship Building: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  7. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel across Canada for various shows, events, and potential new partnerships periodically.
