Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor for Adult Fitness, Wellness & Inclusion Services, the role involves overseeing the safe and effective use of the weight room and multi-training areas.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cultivates an understanding of safe and proper equipment usage in the weight room and multi-training areas. Offers basic guidance on equipment use, training principles, and safety protocols. Ensures compliance with safety and cleanliness regulations among users. Conducts orientations for the weight room and multi-training facilities. Monitors equipment maintenance, inventory, and maintains accurate records. Communicates user feedback, suggestions, and concerns to the Supervisor. Adheres to the daily schedule as outlined. Participates in staff meetings and training sessions. Oversees multi-training areas, track, weight room, courts, and fitness program room. Performs additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

A solid academic and practical understanding of weight training is required. Preferred candidates will have completed a recognized weight training course.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Successful completion of a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check is required. Must obtain Standard First Aid CPR-C certification within three months of employment. Must demonstrate competency as defined by the Occupational Health & Safety Act. WHMIS training is required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Part-time position (not exceeding 24 hours per week). Irregular hours (Monday to Sunday).
