Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Professor in Policy and Sustainability at the University of British Columbia (UBC). This is a tenure-track position that will contribute to the development of our research and teaching programs in the Faculties of Forestry and Land & Food Systems.

About the Position

The successful candidate will have a strong background in social or natural sciences, with a focus on policy and sustainability in land and forest resources. They will be expected to develop an innovative and externally-funded research program, supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and participate in service to the department, university, and academic community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead research projects in policy and sustainability related to land and forest resources
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in policy and sustainability
  • Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
  • Participate in service to the department, university, and academic community
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in social or natural sciences, with a focus on policy and sustainability in land and forest resources. They will also have a strong record of research achievement, teaching experience, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
