About the Role

The BC Public Service Agency is seeking a highly skilled Land and Resource Coordinator to join our team in the Quesnel Natural Resource District. As a key member of our team, you will play a leading role in reviewing Forest Operation Plan submissions and ensuring alignment with government-to-government Forest Landscape Plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze Forest Operation Plan submissions to ensure compliance with government policies and regulations
  • Collaborate with Indigenous Government partners to ensure alignment with Forest Landscape Plans
  • Lead the effectiveness monitoring of Forest Landscape Plans, working with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry representatives, local and provincial government departments, and other stakeholders
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the team on forest management and planning
Requirements
  • Registered as a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) with Forest Professionals BC (FPBC), or able to transfer a current membership from an applicable jurisdiction to FPBC within six (6) months of employment
  • Degree in the natural resource field or equivalent as recognized by Forest Professionals BC (FPBC) or an equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by Forest Professionals BC
  • Experience working in a forestry discipline, including project management, contract management, and partner engagement
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
