Job Title:

Assistant Professor in Policy

Job Summary:

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly qualified candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in policy, with a focus on land and/or forest resources. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an innovative research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and contribute to the academic and research community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an externally-funded and internationally-competitive research program in policy and sustainability
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in policy and sustainability
  • Contribute to the academic and research community through service and collaboration
  • Supervise graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
Requirements:
  • PhD degree in social or natural sciences
  • Strong record or promise of achievements in research and teaching
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in policy and sustainability research
  • Teaching experience in policy and sustainability
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
