About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water and Wastewater Engineer to join our team at Urban Systems Ltd. in Western Canada. As a key member of our engineering practice, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing water and wastewater infrastructure projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop water and wastewater infrastructure systems, including lift stations, pumping stations, reservoirs, and pipelines.
  • Conduct engineering calculations for hydraulic system curves, tank sizing, dosing calculations, pump and motor sizing, wet well sizing, and piping sizing.
  • Prepare facility sizing, layouts, and piping design.
  • Develop cost estimates and draft technical memos, design briefs, and reports.
  • Review drawings, reports, and other deliverables provided by clients, internal teams, and subconsultants.
  • Draft construction specifications and contracts.
  • Oversee and review work provided by members-in-training within the project team.
About You

We are looking for a civil, chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineer with 4-7 years of direct industry experience and registration as a professional member of APEGA or equivalent provincial or territorial association. The ideal candidate will have experience with water and sanitary system modeling and analysis using WaterCAD and PCSWMM, a keen interest in pursuing a career working on water and wastewater projects in Western Canada, and strong problem-solving skills.
