Job Summary

Barr Engineering Co. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our water and wastewater engineering group, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership on complex water and wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams to evaluate, plan, and implement water and wastewater supply and distribution systems, collection, reuse, and treatment facilities for mining and industrial clients.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed engineering plans and specifications for construction, including cost estimating and equipment selection.
  • Assist with construction, start-up, troubleshooting, and operation of new systems.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, track marketing leads and project opportunities, and develop proposals and presentations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) licensure in Alberta and/or British Columbia, with the ability to become licensed in other provinces as needed.
  • 10 or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong technical skills related to water and wastewater engineering, including experience with treatment plant operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulators, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering.
  • Engineering knowledge and experience with industrial processes such as mining, manufacturing, and petroleum refining.
  • Experience with Oil Sands Process Water (OSPW) treatment technologies and receiving environment limitations.
What We Offer

Barr Engineering Co. offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the possibility of splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of either of Barr's Calgary, Alberta or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan offices.
