Position Overview

Trademark Prosecution Support Coordinator is a permanent position based in Toronto, Ontario. Our client, a prominent law firm, is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance their team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation, modification, and electronic submission of Canadian trademark applications and related documentation.
  • Monitor critical deadlines, issue reminders, and assist in the preparation and submission of client reports and responses.
  • Prepare billing dockets and accounts for approval, demonstrating proficiency in accounting and billing practices.
  • Draft routine correspondence and perform administrative tasks while maintaining accurate client contact information in the database.
  • Prioritize incoming assignments, ensure follow-through on tasks, and manage ongoing responsibilities efficiently.
  • Implement and maintain practice management systems to support busy professionals.
  • Open and close client files as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Program.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant with a strong background in Intellectual Property and Trademarks.
  • Familiarity with Inprotech and CIPO's online systems is advantageous.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with strong proofreading capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment while maintaining professional communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Word 2016, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Aderant, and knowledge of iManage or similar document management systems is beneficial.
