POSITION OVERVIEW
As PCK continues to expand, we are seeking a Patent Engineer who is eager to contribute meaningfully. Key responsibilities include:
- Finalizing drafted Patent Applications, including proofreading and assisting with formalization details such as drawings and consistory clauses.
- Preparing responses to office actions, which involves conducting legal and procedural research, amending claims, addressing objections, and preparing petitions.
- Drafting design patent applications.
- Conducting patentability searches, landscape searches, and freedom to operate searches.
- Formulating patentability opinions.
- Maintaining and managing patent files through an electronic docketing system.
- Handling multiple priorities and ensuring deadlines are met while monitoring time-sensitive matters.
- Performing additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical background preferred: A degree in engineering, computer science, or life sciences is advantageous for understanding complex inventions.
- Legal Research Skills: Proficient in conducting thorough patent searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
- Analytical Thinking: Capable of evaluating patentability and providing strategic advice.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal skills for drafting responses and conveying technical concepts.
- Attention to Detail: Careful review and editing of patent documents to ensure compliance.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple applications and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Patent Databases: Experience with databases such as WIPO, USPTO, and EPO is preferred.
- Energetic and adaptable: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude: A passion for success and flexibility in adapting to change.
