POSITION OVERVIEW
As PCK continues to expand, we are seeking a Patent Engineer who is enthusiastic about contributing significantly to our mission. Key responsibilities include:
- Finalizing drafted Patent Applications, which involves proofreading documents and assisting with formalization details such as drawings and consistory clauses.
- Preparing responses to office actions, including conducting additional legal and procedural research, amending claims, addressing objections, and preparing petitions.
- Drafting design patent applications.
- Conducting patentability searches, landscape searches, and freedom to operate searches.
- Formulating patentability opinions.
- Maintaining and managing patent files through an electronic docketing system.
- Handling multiple priorities and ensuring that critical deadlines are met, while monitoring and responding to time-sensitive matters.
- Performing any additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical background preferred: A degree in a technical field such as engineering, computer science, or life sciences is advantageous for understanding and analyzing complex inventions across various industries.
- Legal Research Skills: Proficiency in conducting thorough patent searches, prior art searches, and freedom-to-operate analyses using various databases.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate patentability, infringement, and validity opinions, providing strategic advice to internal stakeholders.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to draft clear responses to office actions and convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail in reviewing and editing patent documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Time Management: Capability to manage multiple patent applications concurrently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Patent Databases and Tools preferred: Experience using patent databases such as WIPO, USPTO, EPO, and patent management software for document management.
- Energetic and adaptable: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to perform effectively under pressure.
- Positive attitude: A strong desire to succeed, exceed expectations, and embrace change.
