Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team in Oakville, Ontario. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Administration: Provide overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to the project team.
  • Safety Management: Develop and implement a project safety plan, leading by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Project Coordination: Ensure that the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
  • Value Engineering: Understand client drivers and offer value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefit.
  • Performance Management: Manage project performance and provide performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and issue subcontracts, revisions, major purchase orders, and progress payments, and monitor their progress and schedule.
  • Contract Compliance: Understand and enforce the contract and contract documents.
  • Project Closeout: Participate in overall project commissioning and closeout.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
  • Relocation: Ability to relocate across Canada and/or the United States.
  • Safety Culture: Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law, and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
  • Planning and Organization: Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Technology: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
