PCL Construction is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Administration: Provide overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to the project team.
  • Safety Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive project safety plan, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
  • Client Management: Understand client drivers and provide value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefits.
  • Performance Management: Manage project performance and provide regular performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and issue subcontracts, revisions, major purchase orders, and progress payments, monitoring their progress and schedule.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure understanding and enforcement of the contract and contract documents.
  • Project Closeout: Participate in overall project commissioning and closeout.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
  • Relocation: Ability to relocate across Canada and/or the United States.
  • Safety Culture: Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including building materials, construction specifications, methods, and procedures, construction law, and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
  • Planning and Organization: Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills, including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Technology: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management, and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
